VaiSulWeb, a leading technology and service provider based in Italy, announces a new partnership with Acronis aimed at providing new and innovative backup services to both its own customers and those users that wish to protect resources hosted by third-party providers, included other public clouds. The new offering has a clear and easy to forecast pricing: € 1 + VAT / month / device plus € 0,20 + VAT / GB / month.
Backup of data is one of the key issues for companies that perform their digital transformation, especially since when specific laws have been introduce to regulate data security and protection (for ex. EU GDPR). Backing up large amount of data and ensure efficiency of the process is an important task and it became very difficult without the right tools and services. Moreover, many companies have established relationships with multiple partners, each of them providing a different solution for the problem. Having a single backup platform that can handle all of those scenarios thus becomes very important.
VaiSulWeb has always been attentive to the protection and security of its customers’ data and it also provides services to protect resources outside its own infrastructure since years, acknowledging that this is a very widespread issue and hybrid nature of the infrastructure of most companies. The new paternership with Acronis provides a further step into innovation by extending the protection to many additional platform and by simplifying the management of the backup platform.
Data protection has been thus extended not only to virtual and physical servers, or virtual machines running inside VaiSulWeb infrastructure, but to 21 platforms among which:
- physical and virtual servers based on Windows or Linux;
- personal computers, desktop, laptops running Windows or Apple Mac OS;
- virtualization hosts running Microsoft Hyper-V, VMWare, Virtuozzo, Xen and KVM;
- mobile devices based on iOS and Android;
- websites that support SSH/SFTP;
- hosting servers configured with Plesk or cPanel;
- Microsoft Office365;
- Microsoft SQL Server instances;
- Active Directory domain controllers.
Furthermore, Windows-based agents can also enable an innovative anti-ransomware protection the will use a heuristic technology to detect and stop cryptolockers before they encrypt customers’ files.
Tens of new features are now available to our customers and that includes downloading backup data from the backup servers, restore on dissimilar hardware and/or hypervisor and many more. Moreover, customers will be able to backup virtual machines running on public clouds like Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS and others. Agent-based protection allows to extend protection to resources running outside VaiSulWeb own infrastructure.
